The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Communications Branch is looking for an enthusiastic, well-organized and analytical individual to prepare media packages, related to the ministry, within specific timeframes. This is a part-time position working up to 12 hours per week, 3 days per week; it requires a start time of 6:00 am (scheduled work days to be determined by the hiring manager), and also requires working 3 to 4 hours every other Sunday.
About the job
You will: work independently in assembling news media packages ensuring timely delivery to clients of the ministry; liaise with staff of other ministry branch and regional offices to request and collect news article clippings and coordinate requests for special articles, audio and television tapes and transcripts; maintain an accurate and up-to-date filing system of news articles; provide back-up and assistance to branch support staff/customer service advisor by providing information and referral service for telephone inquiries and general administrative duties (e.g. photocopying, word processing).

Mandatory requirements
General knowledge and experience in dealing with polices and programs; the ability to learn priorities and issues of the ministry, its agencies and the Ontario Government in order to select appropriate news items as part of the issues management process; experience with office procedures and practices; sound knowledge of computer software (e.g. MS Word), Internet Explorer.
