The Ministry of Health seeks your analytical leadership and exceptional relationship management skills to build and maintain credible, collaborative and participatory partnerships with Ministry partners and external stakeholders in developing and providing health analytics products to meet their needs. This is an opportunity to lead the Capacity Planning and Population Analytics Unit in planning for the future capacity needs of the health system and population health analysis.

About the job

As the Manager, Capacity Planning and Population Analytics, you will:
• Manage and lead the branch's Capacity Planning and Population Analytics Unit.
• Provide authoritative and senior level expertise, advice and recommendations to the Director, Divisional Management team, and Executive leadership within the ministry.
• Manage analytical requests, project requirements, and communications for the unit.
• Manage the research, development and implementation of analytical methodology, indicators and statistical applications.
• Manage strategic analytic projects to plan the future capacity needs of Ontario's health system.
• Lead the development of stakeholder partnerships that promote and foster best practices for program design, development and delivery, and lead and manage stakeholder consultation processes.

Leadership

• You have strong experience leading multiple quantitative analytic projects and/or initiatives concurrently and a demonstrated understanding of quantitative methods and research principles.

Knowledge

• You have knowledge of the programs, services, initiatives and frameworks delivered by the provincial Health Sector.
• You have broad-based knowledge of Ontario's health system, including key issues, trends, and government priorities.
• You have experience leading and conducting technical analyses, and research involving health system, epidemiological, and population health data,
• You have knowledge of best practices regarding research, analytical processes, methodologies, statistics, visualization techniques, and evaluation/performance measurement.
• You have a good understanding of dashboard methodologies and common statistical packages used to analyze large datasets.
• You demonstrate the ability to understand government decision-making processes and have experience supporting evidence-based policy development.

Stakeholder Management & Political Acuity

• You have experience building and maintaining relationships across internal branches and divisions as well as with external partners in order to gather input and build consensus and deliver on priorities.
• You have demonstrated skills in stakeholder engagement, management, consultation, negotiation and issues management.
• You have demonstrated political acuity and the ability to build effective teams, in order to develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
• You have demonstrated knowledge of issues management practices and protocols.
• You have experience in working with clients and stakeholders to identify analytic needs and develop processes and products to meet those needs.
