About the job
In this role, you will:
• conduct environmental scans, research and analyze trends, identify issues with potential implications for provincial gaming operations
• prepare and document results/research findings and make recommendations to senior management
• draft policy/research papers and prepare presentations and briefing materials
• evaluate and advise on options for communicating new business practices, performance measures, and benchmarking initiatives
• lead and/or participate on project teams and develop work plans
• develop and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders
What you bring to the team
Technical Expertise:
• You have knowledge of social, economic, cultural and demographic trends/issues
• You have experience applying program and policy development principles and methodologies to provide recommendations
• You have experience supporting government decision making processes to provide an advisory role in the development of gaming policies
Project Management and Analytical Skills:
• You can lead and coordinate concurrent projects with conflicting deadlines
• You have experience applying research and analytical methods and techniques
• You can apply conceptual thinking to issues and impact analysis and develop draft policy options
Communication and Relationship Management Skills:
• You have excellent written communication skills to draft policy papers, briefing materials and other correspondence
• You can develop and maintain constructive working relationships with staff and stakeholders
• You can convey and present research findings, policy/program options and recommendations to senior management in a concise fashion
• You have strong negotiation, consultations, conflict resolution and facilitation skills
