About the job

In this role you will:
• support and/or coordinate projects to conceptualize, develop, and recommend models, programs, and evaluation and implementation frameworks, to support funding planning for healthcare sector
• initiate and support policy and program planning and development
• support risk and economic impact analyses of funding and allocation policy
• research and synthesize statistical and quantitative data and trends, funding models, and make recommendations
• support development of performance indicators and evaluation metrics to analyze the results of funding and allocation policies
• provide technical funding policy advice, and participate in multi-disciplinary and cross-functional committees
• develop communication materials to translate complex health-based funding models into presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences

What you bring to the team


Policy, Program, and Project Management Knowledge and Skills

• you have knowledge of policy and program development principles to support the development of strategies, policies, and evaluation and funding frameworks related to integrated health care systems
• you have the ability to acquire and apply knowledge of health sector data to conduct analysis in a policy environment and develop complex models and funding formulae
• you have research and project management skills to plan/conduct qualitative/quantitative research studies, undertake analysis of trends, system modelling, and evaluation of best practices, options, costs, and impacts

Knowledge

• you have knowledge of macro and micro economic theory, methodology, and statistical and quantitative analysis techniques
• you have knowledge of health economics and familiarity with economic/expenditure modelling to apply funding and economic models in the areas of forecasting and planning
• you have the ability to acquire and apply knowledge of the broad socio-economic issues impacting provincial health care, relevant legislation, the models of health care delivery, funding, and governance

Communication Skills

• you can respond to issues, provide recommendations, prepare reports, socio-economic analyses, briefing materials and correspondence
• you can write and present briefing notes and options papers for senior management, and advise on sensitive, socio-political health issues
•you can present complex comparative and statistical analyses, and develop reports for both technical and non-technical audiences
• you can provide expertise and advice to other members of a cross-functional team as well as stakeholders

Analytical and Problem Solving Skills

• you can apply economic and policy principles to evaluate health system trends and underlying variables
• you can evaluate inter-relationships between economic health sector variables, and assess the variables which influence health sector expenditures and funding
• you can assess both qualitative and quantitative information in developing policy proposals
• you can analyze competing interests of stakeholders, and develop policies/ solutions that integrate concerns

Computer Skills

• you have knowledge of computer applications and software for statistical and quantitative analysis to prepare data models, analyze relevant data sets, manipulate data and funding formulae
• you have proficiency in software applications for graphics, word-processing, presentation, spreadsheets, internet and email, to conduct research and prepare proposals, reports, briefing material and correspondence
