About the job

Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf/Trillium Demonstration School Campuses seeks a dedicated individual to:

  • maintain premises by performing all aspects of cleaning responsibilities on a daily basis (including dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and disinfecting all washrooms, shower and bath areas, furniture, walls, windows, garbage containers, wet mop floors, pick up garbage and recycling)
  • remove snow and ice from doorways and emergency exits as required
  • operate and maintain equipment such as buffing and shampoo machines
  • requisition and deliver supplies and load and unload trucks
  • availability to work as required including, Day shift & Afternoon Shift

What you bring to the team


Technical knowledge:

You have knowledge of:
  • equipment, materials and cleaning processes;
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) requirements for the handling of chemical solutions;
  • Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements related to work environment hazards.

Communication, analytical and prioritization skills:

  • You can determine daily priorities and recognize problems to identify the need for maintenance or repairs, maintain schedule of work tasks, and to requisition supplies and report problems;
  • You have communication and interpersonal skills to courteously convey information;
  • You have ability to understand department procedures and quality requirements.
