About the job
In this role, you will assist in the development of proposals by writing and editing content development in response to request for proposals (RFP). You will provide writing and editing support for additional materials including promotional materials, articles, brochures and advertising along with internal communications.
What you bring to the team
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of proposal writing best practices to successfully compete with private sector competitors
- Knowledge of journalism /communications theory, techniques and trends to plan and develop effective communications strategies and programs to market OCWA's products to target audiences to win potential business
- Knowledge of the OCWA's business administration, and related processes, related provincial, municipal and environmental legislation, and area water and waste water plant operations, to write interpretative materials on changing regulations or policies for client information/news items.
- General knowledge of business/marketing principles and practices
- Knowledge in creative writing techniques to develop a wide variety of internal and external documents for various purposes and different audiences
- Knowledge in Word processing, spreadsheets, Sharepoint (or other collaboration tool), social media and graphic packages to prepare presentations, and web-based communication; publishing practices to identify design, web and printer programs, and coordinate print and electronic publication production
Interpersonal, Communication and Analytical Skills:
- Liaison and interpersonal skills to consult with many levels of staff within the organization to obtain information to respond to requests for text and marketing support development
- Ability to consistently work within tight timelines using input from others
- Excellent writing and communication skills in a team environment
- Planning and coordinating skills to assemble engineering, technical and business inputs as a total package to submit to RFPs in the province and international market.
- Research and analytical skills to assess and determine the type(s) of media needed for an effective information campaign, develop feedback and performance measures to assess whether program objectives are being met and selecting strategies for disseminating technical ideas/information to reach an audience.
- Oral communication and interpersonal skills to carry out interviews and direct presentations to groups of potential clients
- Graphics and video creation is a bonus.
