About the job

You will:
• lead and/or coordinate the design, development, analysis and evaluation of policies and programs related to French-language services and obligations of the Ministry of Health.
• plan/coordinate the implementation of programs within the legislative, regulatory and policy framework and the government's agenda.

What you bring to the team

Mandatory requirements

You must possess oral and written French-language skills at the superior level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire.

Legislation Knowledge and Skills:

• You have demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to understand, interpret and apply, complex legislation, regulations and policies.
• You have knowledge of the French Language Services Act and related policies and directives.

Knowledge of French Language Services:

• You have working knowledge of French-language services and demonstrated awareness of concerns/priorities of Ontario's Francophone community/stakeholder organizations, and the context of a minority language provincially and nationally.

Project Management Skills:

• You have demonstrated project management skills to lead projects and the demonstrated ability to analyze and evaluate the impacts of new/existing policies, programs, initiatives, and business plans against objectives and goals.

Communication Skills:

• You have excellent verbal communication, negotiation and influencing skills to achieve desired outcomes.
• You have excellent written communication skills to prepare strategic communications, reports, briefing materials and correspondence.
• You have a proven ability to work with people from a range of views and organizations to solve complex problems and guide diverse teams in the delivery of projects to meet timelines and quality expectations.

Analyzing and Problem-Solving Skills:

• You have strong, demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills to provide strategic advice, interpretation, and technical expertise, identify and research issues and provide recommendations.
• You have excellent and demonstrated presentation skills to provide policy advice and explanations on policy and/or program recommendations.

Computer Skills:

• You have computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, graphics and databases to prepare briefing materials, presentations, reports, and correspondence and support research and policy/program development activities.
