About the job

In the position, you will:
• provide a full range of financial services (e.g. manage budget processes, financial planning, forecasts, process payments and invoices, prepare monthly budgets and variance reports);
• provide human resource support functions (e.g. maintain and reconcile payroll attendance (WIN) for Manager and unit staff, coordinate and maintain staff performance plans and reviews, grievance activity, and accommodation requests);
• coordinate the maintenance of information technology inventories and records of rollouts and replacements;
• provide general administrative services (e.g. receive and screen incoming calls, maintain Director's calendar/schedule, schedule appointments)

What you bring to the team


Financial and Administrative Knowledge:

• you have knowledge of relevant purchasing, finance/accounting, human resources and administrative procedures in order to maintain related records and monitoring processes, and to carry out routine and special projects in support of these areas of responsibilities;
• you have knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, projecting and monitoring, in order to provide support to the financial planning processes and annual cycle of reporting and forecasting and to develop and manage Unit's budget

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

• you can assist telephone callers and answer inquiries and convey information;
• you can maintain trust and good working relationships with co-workers and stakeholders;
• you can develop reports, prepare correspondence, presentations, and meeting notes;
• you can review documents to ensure accuracy of data, grammar and spelling

Organizational, Judgement and Problem Solving Skills:

• you can function independently on day-to-day tasks and balance competing demands;
• you can identify when additional help is required to meet deadlines efficiently and effectively;
• you can provide routine analyses which are accurate and complete;
• you can resolve scheduling conflicts as they arise

Computer Skills:

• you have proficiency with computer software such as spreadsheet, word-processing and presentation applications to produce various documents and correspondence
