This is not a remote position. The candidate must be able to work on-site at 222 Jarvis Street, Toronto, at least 2 to 3 days a week.

About the job

In this position you will:

• Manage complex translation projects, including competitive bid requests.
• Provide translation advisory services to Ontario Public Service (OPS) clients and external vendors.
• Provide translation procurement advice.
• Perform evaluations and quality controls.

What you bring to the team


Mandatory requirements

• you must possess oral and written French language skills at the superior level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire.

Project Management, Analytical, Evaluative and Advisory skills:

• You have demonstrated project management skills to set up and manage complex translation projects.
• You have strong analytical and evaluative skills to ensure the meaning and intent of the original message is conveyed in translated materials.
• You have proven experience in translation evaluation and quality control.
• You have excellent advisory skills to assist OPS clients and external translation vendors.
• You have strong organizational, planning and coordination skills and can prioritize workload.

Procurement and Contract Management Skills:

• You have comprehensive knowledge of procurement as well as service and contract management.
• You have the ability to manage contracts with external vendors and ensure compliance.
• You have advanced knowledge of industry practices, translation management systems and quality control/quality assurance methodologies.
• You have knowledge of procurement principles and practices and you can prepare complex competitive bid requests.

Communication skills:

• You have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French.
• You have strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with OPS clients and external vendors.
• You have the ability to address contentious issues and present recommendations and alternatives.

Negotiation/Conflict Resolution skills:

• You have negotiation and conflict-resolution skills to negotiate appropriate conditions for various projects.
• You can mediate disputes between clients and vendors.
