The Ministry of the Attorney General seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to work within the Justice Sector Security Office. This candidate will work under the direction of the Manager and work to ensure the division/ministry is on track to deliver against its many commitments.

About the job
You will:
• coordinate and conduct research and surveys to identify issues, trends and developments related to the Justice Sector Security Initiative
• conduct internet research using social media platforms (i.e. Google, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.)
• participate on project teams to develop policy and program manuals for the program
• prepare reports based on analysis of program's case management and statistical data and coordinate the preparation of briefing materials to inform management of emerging trends and issues
• develop training and communication materials and conduct training/information sessions for senior management and justice sector officials to explain threat risk assessments, roles and responsibilities and other program requirements
What you bring to the team
Technical Knowledge and Skills
• You have knowledge of the justice sector structures, operations, policies and priorities.
• You have knowledge of legislation and regulations related to justice (e.g. Criminal Code) to assist in developing policy and procedure manuals.
• You have demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency using computers and software applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google, Social Media, etc.) to conduct research, prepare materials, reports and statistics.
Analytical, Research and Problem-Solving Skills
• You have knowledge of research techniques, including on-line and can conduct analysis (e.g. needs analysis, environmental scans, surveys, gap and risk analysis) to develop options and recommendations on program/policy enhancements.
• You can identify and analyze trends and emerging developments and issues related to the security and protection of justice sector officials.
Communication Skills
• You can prepare reports and statistics, studies, briefing materials and issues papers to inform senior managements and justice sector security partners of issues and trends.
• You have presentation skills and can develop information and communications material and deliver training sessions.
• You can clearly and concisely communicate information and recommendations.
Interpersonal, Influencing and Consultation Skills
• You have demonstrated interpersonal and influencing skills to liaise with justice sector officials, vendors and working groups and to present options and recommendations to senior management.
• You have consultation and negotiation skills to maintain communication channels and linkages and work cooperatively with ministries, agencies and other jurisdictions involved in the Justice Sector Officials Security Initiative.
