In this critical role, you will be helping Ontario implement one of the biggest social policy transformations in Ontario's childcare system. As well, you will be playing a critical role in the financial design of the model that will support the implementation of the

About the job
You will:
• Perform senior-level research and data analysis on funding policy, including data/financial modelling and costing, and issues raised by the childcare sector and stakeholders
• Develop the overarching funding approach options for funding the sector, considering the unique factors for each sector
• Support the development of the updated child-care funding formula and lead the development of new funding approaches for new funding
• Lead the development of annual childcare funding allocations, develop financial options to meet policy goals and make recommendations to senior management, while providing relevant and thorough analysis of impacts to individual municipalities
What you bring to the team
Technical Knowledge and Data Analysis Skills:
You have advanced knowledge of, and demonstrated experience with:
• Economics and statistics theory, principles and practices, including quantitative/qualitative methods, to perform financial modelling and impact assessments of policy proposals on the funding for the child care sector
• Data integration and data management techniques used to conduct data analyses, synthesize information from multiple sources, make evidence-based recommendations and develop annual funding allocation calculations
• Principles and practices of accounting, strategic financial planning and analysis, financial performance measures, financial reporting, and funding formulas used to provide specialized financial analysis
• Excel and other database-like software necessary for managing data and financial information, financial modelling, and performing analysis, including the use of controls and best practices to reduce risk of errors
Project and Time Management Skills
You have strong experience with:
• Planning and project management skills to effectively deliver on projects and manage competing deadlines and priorities
• Facilitation skills to provide direction to multi-disciplinary project teams on funding and financial analysis matters
Influencing and Communication Skills:
You have demonstrated:
• Oral and written communication skills to prepare reports, briefing materials and correspondence, and explain complex calculations to senior management and sector clients
• Presentation skills to communicate information and findings, options and recommendations to management
• Relationship management skills and political acuity to ensure that financial policy recommendations and briefing materials accurately reflect the overall ministry/government policy direction and objectives, and to identify and brief various stakeholders
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
You have demonstrated strong:
• Analytical skills to identify emerging issues, and evaluate impacts of recommendations or policy options
