This position will play a critical role in the continued deployment and enhancement of Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) product suite, Records Management (RMS) Systems and their integrations with other police related applications.

About the job

In this role, you will:
• Provide specialist-level expertise and technical leadership for the continued production support, delivery, and software upgrades for all CAD products (CAD DBM, CAD Query tool, CPIC and Niche Informer, Netviewer, CADLink and OnCall Analytics), RMS and application integrations
• Identify and conduct the appropriate level of planning for the application onboarding, software upgrade and continuous operational process which includes conducting needs assessments, identify change management and business process issues, design and deliver core training modules and engage in both user and technical support
• Facilitate the data capture process and install the build for new CAD agencies, assist with identifying requirements for map and deployment plan creation, set and maintain default configuration, define enhancement requirements and work with vendor to deliver, test and prepare install guides for technical teams
• Ensure compliance with Security policy and by-laws, and the Ministry policies and standards
• Ensuring stakeholder readiness for new initiatives or functionality, updating policies and business practices, and maintaining regular communication with the stakeholder
• Act as Liaison between the clients and CAD vendor for the procurement of additional software components and ensure both parties understand the support model
• Provide guidance and CAD technical support to members for 911 initiatives
• Engage with and establish effective communications and relationships with a wide range of stakeholders in various levels of authority
• Participate and contribute to Committees, as required

What you bring to the team


Technical Knowledge & Experience

You have:
• knowledge of information, network and security principles
• knowledge of current and the advances in software products
• experience in advanced WINTEL installations, configuration, troubleshooting and administration
• experience in implementing and supporting software infrastructures for both development and production environments, supporting multi-tiered applications in large distributed environments

Reasoning, Analytical and Problem Solving skills

You can:
• assess and recommend network and security architectural strategies of highly complex technical solutions
• assess technical design problems and develop computerized solutions to infrastructure problems in support of systems and end users
• conduct cost benefit analyses in support of acquisition recommendations

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

You have:
• written and oral communication skills to discuss client requirements, prepare project reports and discuss acquisition recommendations with clients, technical staff and vendors
• interpersonal skills to listen, negotiate and influence technology issues and ensure performance and standards needs are achieved while delivering business solutions
• demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions with vendors, customers, other technical staff and senior management
