About Us:The Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services Branch provides wildland fire management services for the province including fire management policies and strategies, fire prevention and detection, and the basic resources for managing wildland fires; aviation flight and maintenance crews and equipment in support of wildland fire and natural resources management, and other specialized aviation services, including non-scheduled air transport to all government ministries and agencies; and emergency management in response to wildland fires, floods, drought/low water, dam failures, erosion, soil and bedrock instability, crude oil and natural gas exploration, natural gas and hydrocarbon underground storage, and salt solution mining emergencies.

Mandatory requirements
• Valid driver's license class "G" or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario.
Leadership Skills:

• You are able to lead the planning and implementation of organizational development and complex change management initiatives.

• You have the ability to be responsible for the overall compliance with legislative statutes, collective agreements, government and ministry policies, directives, guidelines and commitments related to programs and services.

Technical Expertise:
• You have knowledge of and experience in fire behaviour, fire ecology and impacts of fire on landscape, suppression strategies, prescribed burning, weather indices and suppression equipment capabilities and requirements on fires
• You have the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation such as the Forest Fires Prevention Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act and other regulations and guidelines.
• You have demonstrated technical skills and knowledge of resource management theories and practices.
Program Management Skills:
• You have knowledge of change management principles and best practices and demonstrated experience in leading change initiatives.
• You have knowledge of budgetary and financial processes to prepare, implement fiscal and performance budgets, multi-year and annual work plans, and monitor/report on budget allocations.
• You can analyze and interpret findings and make appropriate decisions.
• You have good judgment and political acuity to deal with complex and sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy.
Communication and Relationship Management Skills:
• You can provide guidance and advice to elicit information, prepare reports and liaise with a variety of people of diverse backgrounds and skills.
• You have proven communication, conflict management and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain professional working relationships.
• You have strong presentation and communication skills to provide customer service, make presentations, hold open houses and deliver training courses, workshops and seminars.
• You have strong written communication skills to prepare, review, analyze and develop operational plans, processes, tools, and briefing materials.
