The Strategic and Business Management Branch @ MAGThe Strategic and Business Management Branch oversees the Civil Law Division's wide range of corporate services strategic initiatives, business operations and MAG's Law Library. The branch is responsible for divisional strategic planning, transformation and people-centered initiatives, project management, divisional fiscal planning, controllership, human resources oversight and coordination, procurement, and information management and technology.

The Talent and Organizational Development UnitThe Talent and Organizational Development Unit provides leadership to the Division in the areas of workforce planning and people-first initiatives, including Anti- Racism, Diversity and Inclusion, Reconciliation, Mental Health, Talent Management, Leadership Development, and Workplace Culture. The unit provides complex issues management in the areas of labour relations, corporate programs and initiatives, and human resource management.
As the
Senior Manager, Talent and Organizational Development, you will:
• Oversee a team accountable for managing talent, change, and organizational development to meet people-first objectives in the division.
• Develop approaches to effective talent management, strategic workforce planning, performance management, programs such as recognition, mentorship, mental health, culture improvement, succession planning, and organizational change management to establish a culture of high performance and engagement.
• Plan, direct, manage and evaluate all divisional change and organizational development by leading a broad spectrum of corporate activities in the area of human resources.
• Design, execute and sustain strategic divisional initiatives focused on managing talent, developing people, strengthening the culture, managing resistance, creating programs and policies that enhance organizational capabilities.
• Transform policies, processes, and systems to establish reliable, efficient and easy to use processes and services that leverage data and analytics to support decision-making, better anticipate workforce needs and improve the people experience.
• Provide ongoing stewardship to the organizational design of the division, ensuring overall governance and structure support effective decision-making, high performance, and optimal design.
• Develop, build, and maintain strategic alliances across the ministry and the Ontario Public Service.

• You have consultation and negotiation skills to develop and maintain communication linkages and relationships internally with all levels of management within the division and HR partners, as required to identify ongoing and changing needs, and to ensure programs, services and work processes are aligned with divisional requirements to maintain a high level of service and quality.
Technical Skills and Specialized Knowledge
• You demonstrate the ability to lead a broad spectrum of human resources programs and services (including, but not limited to, talent management, strategic workforce planning and analytics, culture improvement initiatives), strategic and operational planning, organizational design, effectiveness, and change management.
