About the job

You will:

- Lead, coordinate, and participate in divisional and ministry projects related to land economics, policy analysis, and development;
- Develop policy options/responses and approaches for strategic planning and decision-making purposes;
- Identify, monitor, analyze, and assess current and emerging issues related to socio-economic perspectives;
- Oversee all aspects of research project management;
- Develop and prepare various materials such as reports, briefing materials, correspondence, and communication materials;
- Present policy proposals and promotes collaborative efforts with stakeholders.
- Act as a resource, consulting with stakeholders to discuss issues and provide advice.

What you bring to the team

Economics and Policy Development Expertise:

- You have a strong understanding of land economics, land-use planning, macro and microeconomic theory and environmental policy;
- You have knowledge of policy development processes and government decision-making processes;
- You are familiar with government objectives and directions and the ability to ensure they are considered when developing policy options and outreach strategies;
- You understand land-use planning processes, directives, and guidelines;
- You have the ability to interpret and apply legislation and policies to provide advice to senior management and stakeholders.

Project Management Skills:

- You have project management techniques, including planning, organizing, and overseeing growth management projects and studies;
- You are able to provide guidance to team members when leading/coordinating research and policy development projects.

Research and Analytical Skills:

- You have knowledge of socio-economic and economic evaluation tools for quantitative and qualitative analysis and modeling;
- You are proficient in research techniques, including environment and trends scans, analysis of best practices, analysis of options, and impacts.

Communication, Presentation and Partnership Skills:

- You can build and maintain working and collaborative relationships with stakeholders;
- You can effectively respond to issues and provide recommendations through various forms of communication;
- You have strong written communication skills.
