The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, is seeking a qualified individual to join our Detachments across the Province/Region. In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will provide administrative, clerical and court support to Detachment personnel in the co-ordination and processing of administrative services.
You are a self-starter, a collaborative team-builder, and confident in your capabilities to provide proactive client service and administrative support to a diverse workforce within the Ministry of the Solicitor General and the Ontario Provincial Police. We are seeking qualified individuals to join our community detachment teams.

Detachment Selection ListIntent of the process: Please be advised that a qualified pool of candidates will be created and may be used to staff similar or identical positions over the next 12 months. There are no provisions for relocation, accommodation or travel (including meals or vehicles) for any positions within the pool.
Note: This is an operational position requiring a high level of engagement with detachment teams and the community. The successful applicant will be required to report to the detachment to perform their duties in accordance with Ontario Public Service workplace policies.

About the job
In this role, you will:
• Respond to inquiries from the public
• Monitor and maintain computerized database programs
• Prepare a variety of materials including correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, minutes and presentation
• Provide financial administrative support by processing invoices and expense claims
• Prepare human resources documents, and arrange employee accounts
• Maintain files, documents and manuals, and archive records
• Coordinate travel and meeting arrangements
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.
• Oral and written French language skill at an advanced level in designated positions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
You have the skills, abilities and knowledge outlined below, acquired through demonstrated experience, relevant post-secondary education or a combination of both:
• Knowledge of the OPP mandate and what we do
• Knowledge and ability to apply and develop administrative policies, procedures, methods, systems and processes
• Knowledge and ability to provide a variety of administrative support services, including file management, purchasing, invoices/expense claims, and the preparation of human resources documents
• Ability to independently apply problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to manage your workload and set priorities
• Ability to apply attention to detail and math skills to check and verify information and provide administrative financial support such as financial documents and spreadsheets, expenses, accounts payable/receivable and budgets
• Communication and interpersonal skills to respond to inquiries, prepare standard correspondence and work in a team environment
• Computer skills including experience with software programs such as word processing, database, spreadsheet, presentation and organization chart applications, for example: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, PeopleSoft or similar human resource management systems
• Ability to operate and maintenance of office equipment and supply inventory
