About the job

In this role, you will:
- Provide and maintain financial, forecasting and material controls for the Construction Management Office to meet Regional commitments
- Assist, prepare and maintain annual contract budgets
- Provide procurement and tendering support to Ministry staff
- Prepare, review and analyze financial reports
- Prepare correspondence and liaise with MTO staff, service providers and other stakeholders

What you bring to the team

Technical Skills:

- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and financial accounting processes
- Knowledge of procurement and tendering policies and processes as they relate to the acquisition of service providers engaged in the delivery of highway construction
- Proficiency with computers and numerous software applications including MS Office

Communication, Interpersonal Skills and Relationship Building Skills:

- Strong interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships with ministry staff and stakeholders
- Strong oral and written communication skills to prepare correspondence and guide/train all levels of staff
- Demonstrated ability to support, promote and implement organizational change

Analytical, Research, Planning and Problem Solving Skills:

- Proven skills in data gathering and analysis techniques to gather financial and technical data
- Sound analytical and research skills to forecast and monitor expenditures
- Effective problem solving skills to prioritize and identify issues of importance and recommend appropriate course of action
- Demonstrated sound planning skills to prioritize workload and coordinate with other program areas
