Bring your extensive experience to one of three exciting seasonal positions with the Ontario Parks marketing team that will help Ontario Parks provide a high-quality visitor experience. These positions will take a leadership role in identifying and supporting the needs of loyal and new visitors in a multi-disciplinary team environment. We are looking for candidates who can build data driven strategies based on excellent analytical and evaluation skills, and drive action using strong communication and interpersonal skills in one of three focal areas:
Market Research – Conduct market research and analyze existing data sets to help us know our customers and understand opportunities to improve visitor experience.
Market Development – Lead tourism strategy and product development initiatives to bring new services and products to market while providing leadership to existing market development projects.
Customer Service – Help us chart the course for the future of the Ontario Parks customer service program as we work to build a stronger relationship with our customer base.

About the job
In this role, you will:
• Plan, develop, implement and evaluate tourism and marketing opportunities for Ontario Parks
• Assist in the planning and development of marketing promotions, sponsorships/partnerships, market research, public relations/outreach, tourism development projects, and professional advice relating to corporate marketing programs and customer service initiatives
• Develop and deliver public education presentations and workshops
• Develop and manage business and contractual agreements and financial terms between the Ontario Parks and its partners
• Establish and maintain a broad network of contacts in the tourism industry
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• Must have the ability to travel extensively throughout the Province
Technical Knowledge
• You understand tourism development and marketing principles and best practices to analyze research and trends, and to provide strategic consultative advice and expertise in tourism development, marketing and customer service initiatives
• You have knowledge of adult education and training practices and facilitation skills to participate in the development and delivery of training tools and resources
• You have an understanding of financial and contract management principles and practices
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
• You have effective oral communication and interpersonal skills to provide advice and liaise with staff and external influencers such as travel/lifestyle media, bloggers and tourism partners
• You have written communication and presentation skills to develop and deliver presentations and workshops, senior management briefings, and develop tourism and marketing guidelines and promotional material (e.g., graphical information, advertising/brochures, blogs and creative displays)
• You can foster partnerships and establish a broad network of contacts in the tourism industry
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
• You have analytical skills to create strategic tourism development and marketing strategies, and to review and evaluate projects/programs against performance measures
• You have evaluative skills to review contractual agreements to ensure they reflect negotiated terms and expectations
• You have problem solving skills to quickly respond to opportunities and resolve potential problems between partners and Ontario Parks
Project Management and Organizational Skills
• You possess project planning and management skills to manage concurrent tourism development projects
• You are organized, able to work independently, handle competing priorities and meet rigid deadlines
