The Ministry of the Solicitor General is now recruiting for two (2) articling student positions for 2024-2025.
Our articling positions support the fulfillment of the
experiential training competencies for candidates, established by the Law Society of Ontario.
The Ministry of the Solicitor General is part of the Ontario Government, which is one of the largest employers of law students in Canada, hiring approximately 175 articling and law practice program students and 75 summer students every year. About the job
Articling students will assist Branch counsel by: conducting research; drafting memos, opinions, facta, and correspondence; assisting with contracts and procurement; reviewing documents and preparing materials for court and tribunal proceedings; and attending client meetings, mediations, inquests, and hearings with counsel. The students' work may include longer-term research projects as well as more urgent matters with tight timelines. The students will have carriage of Small Claims Court matters under the supervision of counsel and will work with the Class Actions Legal Team.

You are required to be a candidate who is entering or currently registered in the Law Society of Ontario's Lawyer Licensing Process Articling Program.
