About the job

You will:
• Provide a full range of administrative secretarial services
• Utilize a personal computer to transcribe a variety of documents in proper legal style
• Accept service on various documents
• Maintain Ontario and Superior Court files
• Type Ontario and Superior Court subpoenas
• Provide reception duties by answering the telephone and dealing with inquiries at the counter
• Provide a variety of clerical services

What you bring to the team

Mandatory:

• You can type 50 words per minute
• Ability to achieve 70% in a series of tests for spelling, word usage and sentence recognition

Legal Secretarial Knowledge:

• You have demonstrated secretarial and administrative experience including knowledge of office procedures
• You have working knowledge of legal terminology and the practices and procedures of the criminal justice system

General Administrative Skills:

• You have the ability to use computer equipment with related software such as Windows, Word, Outlook and related database applications
• You have demonstrated oral and written communication skills
• You have demonstrated initiative, good judgement and excellent organizational skills
• You have interpersonal skills and experience working effectively as a team member with minimal supervision
