The Central North Correctional Centre seeks a highly skilled individual to establish and maintain various personnel, attendance and payroll records for the staff at the centre.

About the job

You will:
• prepare and submit both regular and fixed-term payroll, attendance and benefits documentation
• verify employee entitlements and payroll related payments and deductions
• respond to employee inquiries and liaise with human resource specialists
• prepare correspondence, input or extract payroll and attendance data and produce reports
• calculate and reconcile documents relating to payroll, attendance and employee benefit entitlements

What you bring to the team


Knowledge and Experience

• You have knowledge of and experience working with human resources, payroll, attendance and benefits processing requirements and practices.
• You can interpret and apply HR policies and directives, legislation, and collective agreements to identify and resolve issues.

Computer Skills

• You have proven knowledge of computerized attendance, payroll, scheduling and HR systems to accurately input data/information.
• You are proficient with software applications, such as Word and Excel, to prepare correspondence, charts and reports.

Analytical and Arithmetic Skills

• You can perform accurate calculations related to payroll, attendance, and employee benefit entitlements.
• You can identify, analyze and resolve a variety of payroll and HR issues.
• You have proven attention to detail to ensure high degree of accuracy.

Organizational Skills

• You can co-ordinate and complete work within established timeframes and under minimal supervision.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• You can respond to inquiries and explain policies and procedure to employees.
• You can prepare a variety of written correspondence.
