The Health Services I&IT Cluster, Emergency Health I&IT Solutions & Technology Management Branch, is looking for experienced professionals to join their team, to develop, maintain and modernize I&IT telecommunication solutions.

About the job

• Analyze, design, implement and measure the performance of a wide and varied range of integrated network facilities, including mission-critical voice, data, radio, satellite and information technology for Central Ambulance Communications Centres (CACC) throughout the province.
• Provide on-site and remote hardware and software technical expertise and coordination in administering, monitoring, managing, implementing, repairing and supporting the desktop and server environment, end-user and vehicle devices, as well as the CACC integrated networked facilities within the CACC.

What you bring to the team

Mandatory requirements

• Valid class G driver's licence.
• Basic CPR Certification, first aid, and radio operation or ability to obtain such certification.
• Job requires extensive travel throughout the assigned area, with occasional multi-day trips to rural and remote radio tower sites, hospitals and ambulance bases in areas not serviced by public or commercial transportation.

Technical Knowledge:

• Knowledge of current and emerging telecommunications systems technologies, including voice, data, satellite, information technology and radio telecommunication systems used in the CACC environment in order to provide technical expertise, advice and troubleshooting support for communications systems within the assigned CACCs
• Knowledge of desktop hardware components such as chips, motherboards, BIOS, memory, network cards, media, interfaces, printers and other peripherals
• Knowledge of server operating system configurations and services, and domain architectures such as Windows Internet Name Service, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, Remote Access Service, Internet Protocol addressing, networking addresses, printer queues and naming conventions

Analytical, Organizational and Coordination Skills:

• Analytical and problem-solving skills to provide technical analysis, and cost-benefit analysis, identify problems and provide solutions
• Organizational and coordination skills to coordinate installations and technical support carried out by vendors
• Planning and organizational skills to lead regional seminars on communications subjects for Emergency Health Services personnel

Communication Skills:

• Oral and written communication and presentation skills to provide training, prepare reports, instructions, and training materials, and interact with internal and external stakeholders
• Consulting and advisory skills to support colleagues, peers, stakeholders, management and end users to identify information technologies which will facilitate business practices

Incident and Change Management Practices:

• Knowledge of incident and change management practices, project management and time management methodologies
