Effective April 1, 2024 the salary range for this position is $76,231 to $109,842 per year in compliance with AMAPCEO collective agreement provisions. The new rates, effective retroactive to April 1, 2024, were recently confirmed and dates for implementation of the new salary rates are still to be determined.

Join us as a Senior Digital Advisor at the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. As a member of our Communications Branch, you'll oversee the ministry's social media strategy, coordinating its execution and aligning it with our strategic communications. Your extensive knowledge of the digital and social media landscape, along with your experience in creating engaging content, will be instrumental in designing and implementing digital communications strategies and utilizing analytics for data-informed decision-making. Your collaborative approach to relationship building is essential for consulting and understanding clients' needs and interacting effectively with diverse stakeholders. About the job

In this role, you will:
• Plan, write, and coordinate approvals for organic social media content for publication on the ministry's social media channels
• Coordinate development of creative and editorial content for social media
• Coordinate approvals and distribution of social media assets
• Design, develop, and implement digital communications products and content
• Lead digital communications in integrated marketing campaigns
• Assess client needs and provide strategic advice on social media opportunities
• Research and analyze social media trends and best practices
• Use analytic tools to measure the impact and effectiveness of digital products
• Monitor online conversations and engage with social media communities
• Liaise with digital advisors across the government
• Provide strategic communications advice and solutions

What you bring to the team


Digital Communications Strategy Skills:

You have the ability to:
• demonstrate an understanding of digital communications theories, techniques, and planning principles
• demonstrate an understanding of digital and social media, including platform differences, trends and best practices
• create engaging content for social media and run paid ad placements
• generate graphic design products and generate shareables, or coordinate vendors and freelancers for this purpose
• demonstrate proficiency in using web tools and technologies, such as Google Analytics, Brandwatch, Hootsuite, etc.

Analytical Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills:

You have the ability to:
• demonstrate strategic, conceptual, and analytical thinking to align actions with long-term priorities
• evaluate complex information and analyze problems to ensure effective communication strategies
