We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven senior-level Program Consultant to join the Industry Development team at Ontario Creates. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and enhancing the business development and market potential of Ontario's diverse creative publishing and screen sectors.

As a Program Consultant, you will lead investment fund program delivery for the publishing and screen sectors, support strategic business development and capacity-building initiatives, and plan and facilitate cross-sector collaborative business events. You will use your industry expertise to support innovative new initiatives to meet the goals of Ontario Creates' strategic plan, and your work will directly contribute to the domestic and international growth of Ontario businesses, positioning Ontario as a leader in creative media innovation.

About the job

In this role, you will:

• Develop and deliver investment programs that will provide financial and strategic support to publishing companies and screen producers, to create market, sell content projects and advance their business development goals;
• Lead the delivery of business initiatives and provide program analysis;
• Provide expert advice on industry trends and market opportunities;
• Support Ontario's presence at key domestic and international markets, festivals and trade shows;
• Plan and facilitate cross-sector business development events;
• Develop and strengthen relationships with key domestic and international stakeholders.

What you bring to the team


Specialized Knowledge

• You have substantial knowledge of creative media industries (such as book and magazine publishing, and/interactive digital media and/or film and television production).
• You have knowledge of business and industrial development theories, programs and marketing strategies including ability to understand business development support programs towards implementing programs, marketing plans and strategic initiatives.
• You have expertise in program development and marketing to provide effective program and service delivery and seek cross-sectional opportunities with other media industries.

Project Management, Organizational and Budgeting Skills

• You have project management skills and knowledge, planning and organizational to manage multiple projects and ensure Ontario's successful presence at a variety of markets and trade shows.
• You can plan and monitor budgets, conduct financial analysis and track program results.

Communication, Consultation and Negotiation Skills

• You have well-developed oral and written communication skills to represent Ontario Creates by speaking publicly about Ontario Creates programs and services and to prepare marketing and program related materials, including stakeholder correspondence, guidelines, communications plans, briefing notes and funding recommendations.
• You have strong consultation, negotiation and partnership-building skills to foster positive working relationships.
• You have experience using personal computer and word processing, database and spreadsheet software to prepare own correspondence, reports and materials

Research and Analytical Skills

• You have research and analytical skills to analyze, identify and advise on industry and market trends, identify gaps and implement opportunities to develop and promote program, marketing and promotional initiatives and partnerships.
