About the job

In this role, you will:
• Plan, lead and conduct annual reviews and inspections relating to any of the acts administered by MCCSS supporting Out of Home Care services
• Provide research, analytical and consultation to support program management, development and implementation
• Evaluate house practices, organizational climate, patterns, behaviour, and performance against legislative requirements and ministry standards
• Combine information from a variety of sources and present findings to senior management
• Develop best practice approaches and protocols by identifying risks, gaps in services, and inconsistencies in practice.
• Collect, analyze and report information on potentially contentious/controversial circumstances/situations
• Support regional program planning and information management

Please note: These positions require supporting licensing work at 808 Robertson Street, Kenora and 435 James Street South, Thunder Bay as well as frequent travel in the Kenora and Thunder Bay area including Dryden and Sioux Lookout

Successful candidates will have an option to work at 808 Robertson Street, Kenora and 435 James Street South, Thunder Bay or hotelling locations in Dryden and Sioux Lookout

Technical Knowledge

You can:
• Apply knowledge of relevant ministry acts, regulations, programs, policy directives and legislation to provide information and advice
• Acquire and apply knowledge relating to social service needs and resources, social service agencies and program sectors

Problem Solving, Research and Analytical Skills

You have:
• Experience identifying problems and issues and developing options for resolution
• Experience ensuring compliance of agency and service systems with legislation, contract expectations, ministry policies, standards and guidelines
• Demonstrated researching, ensuring accuracy of data, reporting results and making recommendations
• Experience participating in approaches that identify shortfalls, and researching and exploring options to improve services

Communication and Consultation Skills

You have:
• Ability to develop written documentation and prepare statistical reports, correspondence and presentations, etc
• Experience preparing reports and plans using common office software (i.e. word processing, presentations and spreadsheets)
• Experience advising community agencies on policies, practices, program/ service delivery, negotiating administrative agreements with service providers
• Demonstrated experience representing the region/programs with community organizations, advocacy groups, and local officials
