About the job

In this role, you will:

• Provide senior technical expertise with the development, testing implementation and maintenance of business intelligence applications
• Lead and participate in the preparation of detailed technical specifications and designs for BI solutions
• Lead and participate in the development of program code for various components of business intelligence solutions
• Translate corporate information requirements into detailed system/programming specifications
• Perform system acceptance testing and draft system documentation
• Develop End User Application (EUA) demos and proto-types to support design process
• Consult with users to determine their user requirements

What you bring to the team


Technical knowledge

You have:
• in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) and Extract, Load, Tranform (ELT) architecture, design, and build
• hands-on experience building transformations, mappings and workflows using Informatica Powercenter and Intelligent Data Management Cloud (or equivalent)
• practical hands-on experience in the design and development of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions using tools like IBM Cognos Business Intelligence 11 and Cognos Framework Manager
• knowledge/experience in public clouds (AWS or Azure) services and cloud solution design patterns for business intelligence and analytics
• knowledge of the principles/techniques of large-scale business intelligence and data warehouse/database design, information management, data lake, and data lakehouse concepts
• knowledge of structured and agile methodologies and DevOps practices for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applications and solutions
• data management domain knowledge such as data quality, master data management, data virtualization, data de-identification, fraud detection
• understand Enterprise Architecture principles, techniques, methodologies and various architecture domains

Systems analysis and technology planning experience

You have:
• experience analyzing, designing, developing, testing, implementing, and demonstrating ETL and Business Intelligence (BI) tools
• experience building and managing data sets by analyzing data contained in the corporate database, legacy systems and other data sources
• experience in programming languages such as Python, Unix scripting and other development tools, architecture and design patterns

Analytical and problem solving skills

You have:
• proven analytical skills to assess client needs and develop solutions that are cost-effective and improve client program and service delivery
• ability to determine all appropriate technical requirements, resources and cost estimates for developing, testing and implementing client applications and recommend improvements
• ability to assess client requirements in relation to multi-purpose and multi-client database systems

Communication and interpersonal skills

You have:
• demonstrated interpersonal, conflict resolution, team building and client relationship management skills to discuss program requirements
• oral and written communication skills to provide information with respect to technical and operational application policies, procedures and standards

Project management skills

• you have demonstrated project planning methodologies to plan and coordinate technical activities, plans and schedules of project teams
