Would you like to be part of a team involved in conducting highly specialized forensic examinations and analyses? Ontario's Centre of Forensic Sciences is one of the most extensive forensic science facilities in North America. We are responsible for conducting scientific investigations in cases involving injury or death in unusual circumstances and in crimes against persons or property.
The Centre of Forensic Sciences - Toxicology Section is seeking (1) experienced technologist to participate in the examination of body fluids and tissues for the presence of drugs and poisons. You will: conduct extractions; perform complex qualitative and quantitative analyses using modern instrumentation such as GC, GC/MS, HPLC, ELISA; use computer databases and computer tracking systems to comply with internal quality assurance and international accreditation standards.

Mandatory requirements
Academic training in, and sound practical knowledge of, analytical and chemical principles; proven knowledge of forensic toxicological tests and procedures and universal precautions; ability to identify precautions that must be taken when handling potentially hazardous materials; experience with and knowledge of analytical instrumentation and laboratory equipment; knowledge of Quality Assurance/Quality Control programs; proven ability to conduct analyses to meet established laboratory standards; demonstrated problem solving skills to identify/resolve issues; proven ability to work in a structured, interactive team environment; demonstrated oral, written communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated computer skills to manipulate data, track, store and retrieve information.
