The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Security Bureau Commander are seeking a qualified individual to join our team. In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will provide security leadership, oversight, advice, technical analysis, expertise, and recommendations for the development, implementation, maintenance and support of Information Technology (IT) security for the Chief Security Office and provide day-to-day subject matter expertise addressing cyber threats monitoring and response related activities in protecting the province's network and assets. In addition, you will maintain cyber security through the monitoring of newly discovered threats and attacks and conduct frequent risk analysis in the development and implementation of new and revised business/information systems solutions for the branch and its clients.
Effective January 1st, 2024 the salary range for this position is $1,812.93 to $2,272.08 per week in compliance with the applicable OPPA collective agreement provisions.

What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• Ability to pass an OPP background security investigation.
• Must have a valid Ontario Driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledge of:
o Cyber security technologies, processes and practices, as well as I/IT Threat Risk Assessment (TRA) concepts, frameworks, protocols and principles.
o And ability to apply project management methodologies as per the industry standard (PMBOK – Project Management Book of Knowledge) in order to participate on IT-based projects and business analysis skills to manage assigned projects and resolve clients' technical/systems problems and issues.
o IT and information security trends and best practices to identify and recommend emerging technologies and solutions for implementation and integration with cyber security infrastructure.
o Cyber threat intelligence collection and research methodologies used for identification of emerging cyber security threats.
• Written communications skills to prepare briefing notes, develop business cases and do project proposals and make presentations on PKI subject matter to senior management.
• Oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex technical solutions to non-technical personnel.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose software/hardware/network conflicts or failures; investigate possible solutions, apply different methods of troubleshooting; and implement corrective action to maintain or restore operation of mission critical and business applications and systems.
• Ability to work well in teams and manage projects.
• Demonstrated knowledge of solution delivery methodologies, processes/techniques to provide cyber security guidance.
