About the job
In this role, you will:
• Apply knowledge of statistical methodologies to develop analytical products for evidence-based decision making and program evaluation in the Ministry of Long Term Care
• Conduct background research to recommend, measure and track a range of information impacting health system performance and its alignment to the health system strategy and policy
• Provide advice to client and colleagues on healthcare data, data governance, and quantitative methods
• Build and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
What you bring to the team
Specialized Knowledge:
• You have knowledge of the theories and methods in one or more of the following: health economics, biostatistics, health system performance measurement, data science and mathematical modelling
• You have knowledge of policies and guidelines in the areas of privacy and information access and distribution
• You have experience in retrieval, preparation, processing, and sharing of large administrative data to extract insights and develop models
Research and Analytical Skills:
• You can apply and interpret statistical and health analytics methods, standards and protocols to develop, evaluate and create products to support modelling
• You can conduct needs assessments, analyses and syntheses of research material, and prioritize key issues or risks
• You understand trends in data science and health analytics to provide research and support strategies
• You can conduct research and provide recommendations on methodology and applications as well as performance measurement approaches
Communication, Consultation and Relationship Management:
• You have consultative skills to provide advice to clients on analytic approaches
• You can prepare and present complex material to both professional and non-professional audiences
• You can develop and build effective relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders and resolve issues
Computer Skills:
• You have knowledge of computer applications and software for statistical and quantitative analysis (such as SAS, Python, R) and data visualization, spreadsheets and databases to prepare data models, analyze relevant data sets, manipulate and interpret clinical and program data and communicate your findings
