The Emergency Health I&IT Solutions and Technology Management Branch requires your IT skills and expertise in support of the implementation, support, and maintenance of mission-critical applications for the Emergency Health Services of Ontario portfolio. It will include building and maintaining critical applications, programming, and building data exchange services.

About the job
As a Senior Programmer Analyst, you will:
• provide application support to end users by identifying, communicating, escalating, and resolving incidents encountered with applications and associated infrastructure
• lead service management best practices across project and operational activities
• provide expertise, advice, and assistance to clients
• review business requirement documents and prepare technical documentation to support the implementation of operational enhancements, such as change and release management artifacts
• perform programming tasks using various industry standard programming languages and operating systems for the more complex programs in a business application
• lead or assist with the testing and implementation of new and enhanced systems and software releases
What you bring to the team
Technical Skills
You can:
• support and maintain application software and associated infrastructure in a variety of environments such as Java, SQL Server, Power BI/Azure and related utilities
• apply service management best practices for incident, problem, change, configuration and release management under the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework in support of IT Operational Support teams • demonstrate knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and techniques in order to participate in the development of information systems such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall development
• demonstrate the use of various programming languages and revision controlAnalytical Skills
You can:
• analyze business requirements, review and prepare technical and operational documentation
• assess IT options for clients and recommend cost-effective solutionsCommunication and Interpersonal Skills
You can:
• convey and explain detailed specialized IT terminology
• clarify and explain resolution to a problem/complaint
• encourage compliance, promote acceptance and secure cooperation for a course of action, recommendation or proposal
