Bring your leadership skills to the Governance, Strategy and Analytics Branch where you will manage and lead the planning, development and delivery of specialized geospatial, financial and/or econometric modeling services related to the energy sector.

You will utilize your strategic thinking and interpersonal skills to foster effective and inclusive project teams.

About the job

In this role, you will:
• Motivate and leads a group of highly specialized professional staff
• Represent the branch, the division and ministry on internal and external corporate committees
• Create a strategic vision for the team to align with branch and division priorities
• Provide technical advice relating to the interpretation, validity and/or accessibility of GIS data and products
• Collaborate with other ministry divisions to ensure effective linkages

What you bring to the team

Team Leadership and Project Management

You have:
• Leadership skills to provide advice and expertise to senior management
• Experience providing leadership, technical guidance, and project management expertise to team members
• Ability to ensure deadlines and deliverables are achieved and can manage shifting priorities

Technical Knowledge

You have knowledge of:
• Geospatial analysis including geocoding, geoprocessing, and map design
• Computerized mapping technology and software as it relates to GIS database management and GIS analysis

Policy and Program Development

You have:
• Experience with policy and program development principles and techniques processes to lead and/or participate in the development of provincial policies and programs
• Ability to use strategic thinking to align ministry strategic goals with projects
• Program analysis skills to develop benchmarks and performance criteria

Interpersonal and Communication Skills

You have:
• Consultation skills to provide strategic advice to senior management and stakeholders
• Networking and relationship management skills to build cross-jurisdictional stakeholder relationships
• Presentation and facilitation skills to develop and present outreach initiatives and communication strategies
• Interpersonal skills and diplomacy to communicate the Ministry policy/position on issues
• Written communications to respond to issues, provide strategic advice and briefing materials

Research, Analytical and Issues Resolution

You can:
• Assess, evaluate, and conceptualize current and emerging policy issues
• Plan, lead and/or carry out research studies, environmental scans and best practice analysis
• Assess both qualitative and quantitative information
