About the job

You will:
• oversee the accurate processing of financial transactions in accounts payable, petty cash, purchasing, inmate trust, business office functions and systems
• assist with budget preparation and expenditure forecasting
• assist with the processing of attendance/payroll transactions
• reconcile complex information and cases
• assist in the training and orientation of new staff
• create and maintain correspondence, spreadsheets and statistical reports

What you bring to the team

Specialized Knowledge:

You have knowledge and experience with:

• Financial accounting and administrative policies and procedures including budgeting, forecasting, purchasing and records retention to ensure processing of financial transactions
• HR policies, procedures and collective agreements
• Supervisory practices, related legislation and policies
• Financial systems and attendance/payroll systems

Essential Skills:

• you have interpersonal and communication skills to respond to inquiries from staff and external suppliers and to work effectively with others
• you have analytical and problem solving skills to verify accuracy of accounts and resolve discrepancies
• you have the ability to work within a fast-paced, changing work environment
• you have knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office and advanced knowledge of Excel to maintain spreadsheets
