About the job

As a vital member of our Office Administration team, you will:
• Supervise and guide subordinates
• Process, verify, and ensure compliance with financial transactions and controls
• Clarify financial directives and manage information requests and complaints
• Reconcile complex cases (e.g., personnel/payroll, WSIB/LTIP)
• Assist with budget preparation, expenditure forecasts, and financial documentation
• Prepare accurate financial reports and correspondence
• Liaise with suppliers, payroll, and staff
• Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

What you bring to the team


Accounting and Financial Knowledge

You have:
• Expertise in accounting policies for purchasing, finances, contracts, budgeting, expenditure analysis, and inventory control
• Proficiency in accounting software and computer applications for financial reports and correspondence
• Skills in inputting, retrieving, monitoring, and analyzing financial transactions, including forecasting
• Ability to verify and forecast expenditures and assist with budget preparation
• Proven accuracy in processing financial transactions

Legislative and Leadership Knowledge and Skills

You have:
• Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and regulations (e.g., Ministry of Correctional Services Act, Collective Agreements, Delegation of Authority, HR, compensation, benefits, and purchasing policies)
• Skills in directing staff, providing guidance, and training in accounting processes and software applications.

Analytical, Problem Solving and Organizational Skills

You:
• Identify and resolve file and information discrepancies
• Demonstrate strong arithmetic skills
• Maintain accurate and detailed records
• Organize your workload and prioritize tasks effectively

Communication, Interpersonal and Computer Skills

You:
• Communicate effectively and present information clearly and concisely
• Are proficient with software applications and databases (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WIN, PayMod, IFIS)
• Maintain office equipment (e.g., photocopier, fax machine, printer)
