HR Advisors facilitate early workplace resolution, and guide managers and directors in the application of a consistent enterprise approach to HR issues and people management strategies. This position plays a critical role in providing strategic advice to help OPS leaders make informed decisions and mitigate risks and is a key partner in promoting positive labour relations and supporting organizational transformation. As a trusted HR partner, you will identify opportunities to enhance HR operations to meet the evolving needs of the organization and foster a positive workplace culture.

You will use your expertise to provide strategic HR advice to clients on:
• Organizational design, staffing, performance management, compensation and labour relations
• The application of human resource legislation, policies, programs and collective agreements
• Employment accommodation, attendance management and employment transition
• Developing strategies for successful HR outcomes
• Developing and delivering presentations and briefings to clients
• Preparing project plans, implementation plans, briefing notes and analysis documents
• Designing and facilitating engagement sessions with clients and stakeholders on HR topics
You will showcase your collaboration and project management skills by:
• Contributing to innovative solutions on complex and multi-faceted issues
• Developing strategic products that move the bar on various ministry and corporate initiatives
• Driving innovative thinking and having the courage to communicate the value of making bold changes
• Contributing to branch wide project teams and working groups
What you bring to the team
HR knowledge and expertise:
you have:
• strong knowledge of HR laws, policies, and key areas like health and wellness, employee engagement, accessibility, compensation, and labour relations
• proven experience applying HR policies to provide clear, practical advice and guidance to leaders and teams
• ability to deliver strategic, solution-oriented support for a wide range of HR challenges
• commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion with practical experience in anti-racism efforts
Consultation & communication:
you have:
• excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex HR topics to diverse audiences, both in writing and verbally
• strong relationship-building abilities, able to develop trust and rapport with clients, HR partners, and colleagues
you are:
• professional in handling sensitive and confidential situations with discretion
• skilled at managing and resolving complex issues, especially when there are conflicting perspectives or interests
Problem-solving & analytical skills:
you have:
• strong problem-solving abilities, with experience addressing complex HR issues while minimizing risks
• ability to analyze data, conduct research, and provide data-driven recommendations
• in-depth knowledge of HR policies and best practices, and the ability to apply them to guide decisions effectively
Organizational & project management skills
you have:
• proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• experience leading or contributing to projects aimed at improving HR processes and policies
• strong planning and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks based on client needs
