About the job
To contribute to economic and financial policy development, you will:
• conduct economic and financial research and analysis on a range of municipal finance issues
• develop and review analytical models
• consult with stakeholders, review policy options and make recommendations
• prepare option papers and reports on municipal finance issues
• design and help manage projects
What you bring to the team
Technical knowledge and experience:
You have:
• Knowledge of policy development and legislative process.
• The ability to interpret reports, policies or legislation.
• Experience with quantitative and qualitative research, data analysis and data modelling.
• Knowledge of financial and economic management theory, research methodology and techniques with the ability to link those to municipal financial management.
Communication and presentation skills:
You can:
• Summarize information and share clear reports and briefings with staff and partners.
• Build effective working relationships.
Analytical and evaluative skills:
You have:
• Strong evaluative and analytical skills, with demonstrated understanding of policy planning and development.
• The ability to understand and explain complicated financial ideas.
