Lead Emergency Planning That Keeps Courts Running and People Safe

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for public safety and risk management? The Corporate Services Management Division at the Ministry of the Attorney General is seeking a Senior Program Advisor to lead enterprise-wide emergency management, business continuity, and security planning. Help ensure MAG branches and courthouses are prepared, protected, and resilient - before, during, and after emergencies.

About the job

In this role, you will:

• Provide expert advice on emergency management, business continuity, and physical security planning.
• Lead consultations, chair committees, and support senior leaders with planning and decision-making.
• Develop and deliver emergency response strategies, training, and security programs.
• Prepare reports, briefings, and presentations on sensitive emergency and security issues.
• Ensure MAG meets provincial emergency management standards and stays ready to respond.

What you bring to the team


Technical Expertise

You have:

• Experience in emergency management, business continuity, and physical security planning.
• Knowledge of security systems, risk prevention strategies, and contingency planning.
• Familiarity with key laws and policies like the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, OPS Physical Security Policy, and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• An understanding of collective agreements and policies related to staff redeployment.

Analytical Thinking and Problem Solving

You can:

• Design and improve emergency and recovery plans that work in real-world situations.
• Spot risks early, track progress, and adjust plans as needed.
• Break down complex issues, assess impact, and find practical solutions.

Communication and collaboration

You can:

• Share expert advice with leaders and teams across the ministry.
• Write clear policies, reports, and training materials.
• Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to share knowledge and improve planning.
• Lead training sessions to help staff and managers stay prepared.

Planning and Coordination

You can:

• Help develop and update emergency and security plans that meet legal and policy standards.
• Support labour dispute planning, including staff redeployment strategies.
• Coordinate emergency response systems and communication protocols.
