Learn about the services we offerIn this position you will: • provide quality front counter customer services in person, virtually and by phone; by providing timely and accurate information related to government programs, products and services
• process applications and renewals
• collect payments and issue receipts
• resolve customer inquiries
• stay current on policies and procedures
What you bring to the team
Exceptional customer service must have:
•
Customer focus to provide optimum service, explain information and meet customer needs, resolve customer inquires and find solutions resulting in a positive customer experience.
•
Thinking skills to probe for information, assess situations, to determine customer needs, and take appropriate actions.
•
Computer proficiency and ability to use Microsoft Office, database programs, and operation of specialized equipment.
•
Effective communication to explain guidelines and procedures, respond to customer questions, write concise correspondence, apply judgement, tact empathy and patience to meet customer needs.
•
Math skills to handle cash, operate cash register and point of sale machines to process transactions
•
Team collaboration to work well with colleagues in a team environment.

In this role you will be compensated, in addition to your salary a follows:• 5% of gross pay in lieu of statutory holidays
• 5.75% of gross pay in lieu of vacation
• supplementary Health and Hospital (SH&H) Plan (which includes vision care and hearing aid benefits), Dental Plan, and Basic Life Insurance Plan.
• accrual of attendance credits at the rate of 1.25 days per calendar month of full attendance to be used in the event that an employee is unable to attend to work for reason of illness or injury
• you may, at your expense, participate in the OPSEU Pension Plan
