About the job

In this exciting opportunity, you will:
• provide technical and creative expertise in the design and production of innovative highway signing systems on a Province-wide basis
• create and develop Provincial Standard drawings and patterns and all highway sign standards for use in Ontario
• provide technical advice and coordination in the materials and production aspects of highway sign manufacture
• function as a ministry technical specialist in sign design and manufacturing procedures

What you bring to the team


Graphic Design Knowledge

• You have advanced knowledge of and demonstrated skill in the use of Adobe Creative Suite software related to graphic design
• You know graphic design, drafting techniques, work procedures, pertinent classification of signs and principles of sign design, such as information, warning and guidance
• You know and have demonstrated use of microcomputers and related graphic design and word processing software

Problem Solving and Project Management Skills

• You can interpret and follow detailed instructions with the ability to be creative and innovative in developing design alternatives
• You can design, implement, lead and manage a number of concurrent projects of varying degrees of complexity, individually and within a team environment

Communication and Presentation Skills

• You can provide advice and consultation to identify the needs of diverse users to maintain effective working relations
• You can present materials to peers and senior management in a clear and concise manner
