About the job
Managing the Children and Family Programs department, you will:
• lead a cross-functional team of managers, programmers and facilitators who develop and deliver science programming for a wide variety of audiences
• provide guidance on public programming and audience engagement strategies
• give creative direction and oversee quality of educational content
• design business strategies to enhance programs, grow participation, generate revenue, and ensure financial sustainability
• set and monitor performance targets and give progress updates to senior management
• oversee programming policies and best practices for managing health and safety of children in the Centre's care

Management and leadership skills
You can:
• provide strategic direction, guidance and coaching to staff and project teams

• manage programs that generate revenue while growing the OSC's offerings and attendance

• ensure programs are customer-focused, financially sustainable, and aligned with the OSC's goals
• design engaging, educational programs for families, children and youth ages 5-18, and general visitors
• manage long-term business, financial, resource and result-based planning processes
• ensure programs follow regulatory and legislative requirements for working with and protecting the health and safety of children
Communication and interpersonal skills
You can:
• build relationships with executives, senior management, employees, and external partners
• advise senior management and provide program planning expertise to help shape recommendations and direction
• clearly explain issues and risks that could affect program success
• handle resolution of issues and create communication plans to manage risks and issues
Analytical thinking skills
You can:
• develop strategies for critical relationships, sustainability and revitalization to coordinate program delivery, program review processes and address any issues
• establish consensus on program delivery and issues management
• build partnerships that support best practices and manage partner consultation process
