About UsThe French Language Services Office (FLSO) works across the ministry supporting the integration of French Language Services (FLS) into programs and policies. The FLSO directly supports a range of FLS and related initiatives such as increasing French language capacity across the health care system, working closely with Ontario Health, improving access to FLS health programming,), translation services, research initiatives and managing projects under the Canada-Ontario Agreement for French Language Services. The FLSO also provides advice on program and policy changes and recommendations.
About the job
In this role, you will:
• Develop, recommend, and administer policies, programs, and initiatives regarding effective strategic alignment of health services in French
• Work with individuals and groups internal and external to the Ministry regarding health issues for Francophones and represent the FLSO on working groups and committees
• Review and evaluate existing policies/programs/services to identify gaps in service
• Monitor compliance with French Language Services Act (FLSA)
• Provide advice and expertise to senior management and staff on areas where ministry programs and policies may have an impact on French language services and interpretation of the FLSA
• Liaise with stakeholders to discuss impacts of policies and programs and prepare reports and analyses on findings

Mandatory Requirements
• Proficiency in English as well as oral and written French Language skills at the superior level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire.

• Analyze impacts of new/existing policies/programs
• Conduct research to identify issues and trends to prepare recommendations

Technical Knowledge
• You have knowledge of Ontario's Francophone community and stakeholder organizations and issues faced by them
Project Management and Computer Skills
You have:
• Project management skills to lead and/or participate on project teams
• Proficiency with computer software (e.g. word processing, database, spreadsheets) to prepare materials, presentations, and conduct research and analyses
