Meet Your New Team

You will join the Corporate I&IT Solutions and Integration Management Branch within the Health Services Cluster at Government Information Technology Ontario (GovTechON). The branch supports a wide range of corporate and data-driven solutions for the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Long-Term Care, and the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility. Our work spans financial systems, strategic data platforms, and digital applications that enable timely and informed decision-making across the health sector.

As Senior Manager, Business Solutions, you will report to Head of the Corporate I&IT Solutions and Integration Management Branch. You will be part of a team that is collaborative, agile, and committed to delivering impactful technology solutions. You will work closely with both internal partners and external organizations such as Ontario Health and Health Canada.

Leadership and People Management Skills

Demonstrated leadership behaviours, attributes and mindsets for leaders, across the organization, to lead the OPS into the future and deliver our vision.
Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to inspire, engage, motivate, develop, and mentor staff to deliver on results during on-going change and transformation.
Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a matrixed or hybrid organizational environment.
Demonstrated success in building strong partnerships with program areas across Ministry of Health, Ministry of Long-Term Care, Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility, and OPS to ensure alignment on data engineering, product development and data leadership.
Proven record of strategic thinking, innovation, and effective decision-making abilities.

Accessible and hands-on leadership style that supports both strategic direction and day-to-day operations.

Technical Expertise

Experience with enterprise-level data architecture, data platforms, and cloud technologies.
Strong understanding of modern data architectures, particularly Lakehouse models integrating structured and unstructured data.
Familiarity with Delta Lake, data lake and warehouse convergence, and metadata-driven design.
Experience supporting the development of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, or similar).
Knowledge of data ingestion, data quality, lineage, and cataloging tools.
Understanding of modern I&IT tools, integration strategies, and infrastructure planning.
Ability to engage with technical teams on architecture, design, and platform trade-offs.
Ability to assess technical needs and translate them into strategic technology solutions.
Familiarity with government I&IT structures, data governance frameworks, or public health system.
Knowledge of the digital health ecosystem, including privacy, security, and interoperability standards.

Strategic Thinking and Delivery

Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and deliver technology solutions that align with organizational priorities.
Demonstrated thought leadership on data strategy, platform modernization, and analytics enablement.
Proven experience ensuring program decisions align with long-term enterprise data vision, including privacy, interoperability, and scalability considerations.
Experience developing and executing multi-year plans that support modernization and transformation goals.
Comfortable working in evolving or restructured environments with shifting business needs.
Experience driving cultural and operational change in support of agile and outcome-oriented delivery models.

Relationship Management and Communication Skills

Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across the organization to enhance awareness, manage expectations, and deliver on priorities.
Demonstrated good judgement, political acuity, and organizational awareness in managing issues and priorities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to develop and deliver presentations and executive briefings.
Ability to influence and negotiate with partners and stakeholders to find collaborative solutions to complex issues.
Ability to present recommendations and options for a business/program audience on technical improvements/enhancements, introduce modern technologies, and discuss complex I&IT solutions with business clients, management, and executives.
