About the job

In this role, you will:
• provide ministry policy and program direction and expertise for restructuring and redevelopment of hospitals
and related facilities as a part of a planned system of hospital and health services.
• build partnerships among ministry, hospitals, and community stakeholders in an area of a defined geographic region.

What you bring to the team


Specialized Knowledge

You have:
• Strong understanding of health services, capital planning, and hospital operations to assess and recommend hospital capital plans.
• Ability to interpret key health legislation and align with strategic priorities in institutional care (e.g. Public Hospitals Act, Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Act, Mental Health Act, Private Hospitals Act, Independent Health Facilities Act).
• Skills in program planning and evaluation, with experience managing capital planning processes and analyzing financial/operational data.
• Ability to effectively build networks across branches to coordinate and exchange information.

Analytical & Risk Assessment

You are:
• Proficient in applying analytical and risk assessment methods to evaluate financial and operational data, benchmark hospital performance, and develop recommendations that enhance health services and hospital operations.

Communication and Consultation Skills

You are:
• Skilled in preparing reports, presentations, and briefing materials to convey ministry direction. Strong interpersonal and consultation abilities to engage stakeholders and resolve sensitive issues.

Project and Financial Management

You are:
• Experienced in managing hospital redevelopment projects and ministry initiatives, overseeing capital planning, coordinating reviews, and evaluating financial submissions.

Computer Skills

You have:
• Experience using computer applications utilizing word processing, graphics, and spreadsheet software.
