About us

The Ministry of the Attorney General (MAG) is responsible for delivering a fair and accessible justice system that inspires public confidence and upholds the rule of law. MAG delivers justice services to Ontarians by: prosecuting crime; supporting victims of crime; providing decision-making and justice support services to vulnerable people; providing criminal, civil and family courts and related justice services that are efficient and effective; providing legal advice and services to government.

The Service Design and Lean Office (SDLO) supports project teams across MAG on enhancing operational efficiencies, service quality, and digital transformation. We use a user-centred approach to lead lean reviews, service design, and user research projects with tangible outcomes. We also deliver training programs to build internal capacity, foster user-centred mindsets, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Process Improvement Consultant to lead change and transformation initiatives that improve processes and use lean practices to solve problems, find efficiencies, and improve service quality. This position is located at 720 Bay St., Toronto.

About the job

As a Senior Process Improvement Consultant you will:

• Leverage your expertise in process improvement and business analysis to make government processes more efficient and deliver lean training sessions to ministry staff.
• Work at a fast pace with autonomy and purpose. Manage multiple projects at once, engage diverse stakeholders, and facilitate workshops with cross-functional teams.
• Provide expert consultation and mentorship to staff.
• Lead and facilitate workshops to gather insights and drive collaborative problem-solving.
• Analyse and synthesize data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with ministry partners to identify strategic recommendations, implement solutions, and measure outcomes.

What you bring to the team


Process Improvement and Business Analysis Expertise:

you can:
• Identify opportunities to streamline, optimize, and standardize processes.
• Develop business cases and conduct environmental scans for improvement initiatives.
• Design tools to identify and assess value, identify root causes of issues, and assess and manage risks.
• Analyse complex information, identify recommendations, develop improvement experiments, and create actionable implementation plans.
• Leverage your expert knowledge of lean and continuous improvement approaches and tools to design and lead training sessions.
• Leverage your knowledge and experience of service design, user research, and change management methodologies (such experience can be gained through a Lean/Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or equivalent training) to support projects.

Relationship Building and Communication Skills:

you can:
• Build trust and foster collaboration across teams.
• Design, lead, and facilitate workshops to gather insights from stakeholders and drive consensus.
• Lead consultations and working groups with ministry partners and diverse stakeholders.
• Leverage your sound judgment in evaluating priorities and navigating change.
• Utilize your effective oral and written communicate skills to prepare reports, presentations, briefings, and provide recommendations to senior management.

Leadership, Project Management and Change Management Skills:

you can:
• Delegate, prioritize work, and can coach and motivate others.
• Leverage your strong change and project management skills to scope projects, prepare project plans, manage change, resolve issues, and provide project guidance.
• Be proactive and use effective project management skills to maintain strategic focus and deliver multiple projects on time and with high quality.

Data and Measurement Skills:

you can:
• Develop performance measurement frameworks and indicators.
• Use data visualization tools to communicate insights and support decision-making.
