Bring your IT expertise and leadership skills to this high-impact role, as we continue our transformation journey towards delivering multi-site and hybrid analog/digital offerings of our programs and exhibits. This is a pivotal moment for the organization as we simultaneously implement this new delivery model and prepare for our upcoming move to Ontario Place.

About the job

As the Director, Information Technology, you will:
• set the overall direction for IT, including modernization plans, and advise leadership on operational and financial impacts of technology initiatives
• work with executives and management to ensure technology supports business goals and key priorities
• handle day-to-day operational needs, including resolving issues, managing technology needs and purchases, updating information/data management solutions and ensuring compliance with policies
• oversee security of systems, networks and enterprise information, and support with IT security audits and investigations
• manage end-to-end large-scale IT projects
• develop, review and update I&IT policies, standards and guidelines
• manage the IT team and budget, including updating the team's skills and experiences
• act as the first-responder to IT-related emergencies and after hours situations as needed

What you bring to the team


IT knowledge and experience

You are:
• able to understand I&IT technologies, strategies, trends and offerings to support various deliverables and transformations in a service and experience delivery organization
• able to assess user end needs and system functionality to support operational requirements for different business areas
• experienced with large enterprise systems and applications that align with business goals, budget targets, and service delivery levels
• experienced in IT security, including developing strategies for threat and vulnerability management, tracking and analysis using industry standards
• knowledgeable in networking technologies and enterprise I&IT standards to ensure project compliance and integration

Leadership and management competencies

• manage and inspire direct reports and project teams who are technical and multidisciplinary
• communicate effectively to work with all levels, including staff, management and executives, while demonstrating political acuity
• influence, negotiate and collaborate with various groups and across levels on I&IT initiatives

Program and project management knowledge and skills

You have:
• experience in project, portfolio and program management with demonstrated knowledge of standards, techniques, methodologies and tools
• experience in managing large, complex, high profile, and high-risk projects through all project phases

Controllership skills

You have:
• financial management expertise to develop and maintain complex budgets
• an understanding of procurement policies to support acquisition of I&IT resources, software solutions, hardware and services
• experience in negotiating and managing complex vendor contracts
