The Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (IPC) is seeking a Senior Data Analytics Consultant to lead strategic analytics initiatives that support executive decision-making and operational excellence. You'll play a pivotal role in designing performance measurement frameworks, advanced analytics models, and data visualization tools—bringing clarity, transparency, and evidence to key organizational priorities.

About the job

You will:
• Lead the delivery of analytics projects from planning through execution, aligning with business goals and stakeholder needs
• Design performance dashboards, KPIs, and scorecards that support executive reporting and public accountability
• Conduct advanced analytics—including predictive modeling, trend analysis, and forecasting—to uncover operational insights
• Translate complex business challenges into data-driven strategies and reporting frameworks
• Build data pipelines and automate recurring reporting using SQL, Python or R
• Develop tools that evaluate operational performance within case management and service delivery systems
• Define data governance standards and promote data quality, consistency, and integrity
• Prepare project documentation such as business cases, data dictionaries, and user guidance materials
• Present analytical findings to senior leadership through compelling data storytelling and briefings
• Facilitate cross-departmental working groups to promote a culture of measurement, evaluation, and continuous improvement

Salary: $82,217 – $121,155 per year

What you bring to the team


Analytics & Technical Expertise:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in analytics, performance measurement, or business intelligence, preferably in the public or broader public sector
• Proficiency in SQL, Python or R, and data visualization tools like Power BI
• Experience working with Microsoft Dataverse and other structured data platforms
• Skilled in developing KPIs, performance frameworks, and advanced reporting tools
• Demonstrated ability to analyze operational data from case management or service delivery systems
• Strong understanding of analytical methodologies including predictive, inferential, and statistical analysis

Strategic & Consulting Skills:

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional analytics projects with minimal oversight
• Experience translating business needs into measurable outcomes and performance metrics
• Excellent communication skills for engaging senior stakeholders and presenting complex ideas clearly

Project & Collaboration Skills:

• Skilled in project management tools and methodologies
• Comfortable facilitating workshops and consultations across teams
• Adept at writing technical documentation and communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences

Education:

• Master's degree in data science, management analytics, public administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience) is considered an asset.
