About the job
In this role, you will:
• Lead the development of corridor management processes, programs and systems
• Lead resource and work planning including scheduling and tracking team tasks, project dependencies and milestones
• Establish consultation networks and leverage those networks to support process and program delivery
• Collaborate and encourage team collaboration with partners to develop, analyse, and implement required changes to processes and programs aligned to ministry, division and branch goals, objectives, and activities
• Identify service delivery issues and assess impact to process and program objectives
• Coach and mentor team members
• Provide expert technical corridor management advice
• Provide guidance and expertise on issues, policies, procedures and operating guidelines
• Effectively represent the ministry's interests in dealing with multiple stakeholders
• Develop communication strategies for complex process and program issues
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• You possess a valid Ontario's Class G Driver's license in good standing
Relationship Management and Partnership Skills
You have:
• Relationship management and partnership skills to provide leadership and to build and maintain effective working relationships
• Consultation skills to lead consultations with internal and external partners in the resolution of a broad range of issues related to processes, programs and policies
Communication, Negotiation, Advisory, Influencing and Persuasive Skills
You have:
• Communication, negotiation, advisory, persuasive and influencing skills to negotiate the resolution of conflicts, discrepancies and issues
• Strong oral and written communication skills to provide expertise, interpretations and direction on related legislation, policy, processes and programs; to assist and in communicating complex processes/programs and changes to executives that are clear, concise and meaningful
Policy, Program and Process Knowledge
You have:
• Knowledge and abilities related to corridor management, including engineering planning approval processes and applicable legislation (e.g., Public Transportation and Highway Improvement Act, Public Service Works on Highways Act, Planning Act, etc.).
• The ability to ensure ministry policies, processes, programs and strategic agenda are aligned to the development of legislative, regulatory, policy, program proposals and initiatives.
• Knowledge of decision-making processes to develop and interpret policy, processes and programs and make recommendations.
Leadership and Project Management Skills
You have:
• Strong leadership skills to provide leadership, supervision, training, development, mentoring and assigning and evaluating work.
• Strong project management and leadership skills to plan, organize, analyze and implement processes/programs, policies and procedures involving multi-disciplinary and inter-ministerial teams.
• Strong organizational skills to plan and deliver a wide variety of complex assignments with competing deadlines.
• Planning and coordination skills to assist with workload planning.
• The ability to assess budget and human resource requirements for projects.
Analytical and Research Skills
You have:
• Research and analytical skills to assess the diverse process and program impacts of proposed recommendations
• The ability to lead the monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of risk management/assessment strategies, tools and mechanisms
• Process and program analysis and assessment experience to evaluate the effectiveness of existing and previous processes and programs
