Our mission at the Marketing and Creative Services branch in Cabinet Office Communications is to work with ministry partners and the Premier's Office to provide best-in-class marketing, social media, digital analytics and media buying for government programs and initiatives.

The Marketing Strategy team in Cabinet Office Communications is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and high-performing individual as a Senior Marketing Advisor. This is an opportunity to drive and support government marketing projects dedicated to informing Ontarians about key programs and services.

The Ministry
 Cabinet Office is the Premier's ministry. It provides the Premier and his Cabinet with advice and analysis to help the government achieve its priorities.

 The Marketing and Creative Services (MACS) works with our ministry partners to provide best-in-class marketing, social media, digital analytics and media buying for government programs and initiatives. About the job

As the Senior Marketing Advisor, you will:
• Develop the strategy for multiple marketing campaigns by researching target audience, media trends and consumption, and conducting jurisdictional scans.
• Provide advice on marketing campaigns, challenges and opportunities for campaigns and work with internal teams, ministry partners and Premier's Office on identifying best practices, and ensure marketing and communications are integrated and aligned.
• Liaise and work with creative and media agency partners, and internal teams to develop strategic, effective marketing campaigns that deliver against objectives in a timely manner and stay within budget.
• Manage and facilitate all ministry, internal teams and Premier's Office approvals, briefings, feedback and presentation sessions for all marketing campaigns.
• Build and foster good relationships amongst Premier's Office, ministries, internal teams, creative agencies and media agencies during all campaign phases. This means championing the campaign and ensuring all parties are approve of the products.
• Project manage all campaigns' milestones and timelines to build consensus and alignment, including strategy development, creative and media brief-ins, creative and media product reviews and approvals, in-market monitoring including optimization recommendations, and post-campaign evaluation. This includes providing regular status updates and reports on marketing activities.

What you bring to the team


Project Management Skills:

• You have demonstrated exceptional project management skills to plan, execute and evaluate marketing campaigns
• You have strong organizational and problem-solving skills to deliver high quality marketing and communications products within required timelines
• You have excellent research skills and understanding of best practices for marketing campaign evaluation, including traditional and digital media
• You have superior experience with developing marketing strategy briefs, creative briefs, production schedules, workback schedules, budget management, digital assets, media planning practices and monitoring

Relationship Management:

• You can provide top-notch client service and tactfully manage client expectations
• You have demonstrated experience liaising with clients to ascertain needs and provide advice on marketing and digital media campaigns, trends and opportunities
• You have strong relationship management, communication, interpersonal, and consultation skills to develop and maintain effective relationships with senior management and stakeholders
• You are able to prioritize client requests and problem solve issues with clients.

Interpersonal and Communication Skills:

• You have excellent interpersonal skills to work with and manage senior management in Cabinet Office, Premier's Office, internal teams and ministries to resolve concerns tactfully and effectively
• You have leveraged your strong communication skills to establish positive/productive relationships with clients and effectively exchange information
• You have advanced written communications skills, presentation skills and have prepared presentations decks and briefing materials to support senior management and clients

Knowledge and Other Skills:

• You have superior experience strategizing, planning and executing marketing campaigns with a advance knowledge of marketing best practices
• You have strong familiarity of media channels, understand how media contributes to the success of a marketing campaign, and can recommend appropriate media channels to support a campaign.
• You understand the creative strategy, development and production process, and can manage internal and external agencies to produce creative assets and advertisements.
• You have a firm understanding of the Government Advertising Act, French Language Services Act, and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and the requirements and application for government campaigns
• You have experience exercising strong judgment, tact and discretion
• You have strong political acuity to understand changing priorities and issues, and how they impact marketing campaigns.
• You are familiar with government programs and priorities
• You are able to manage multiple marketing campaigns at one time, and prioritize based on timelines, budget and importance. At any given time, you could manage up to ten marketing campaigns.
