The Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (IPC) is an administrative tribunal responsible for overseeing the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act, and Part X of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act.
The IPC has an exciting new opportunity for legal counsel to provide advice on privacy and access to information issues in the health sector. The successful candidate must be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario and will also be asked to take on work in other areas.

What you bring to the team
How do I qualify
You will qualify for this position by demonstrating a minimum of three years' experience providing legal advice in the health sector with specialized knowledge of the legal, policy and practice issues in that sector.
The following legal experience is considered an asset:
o Advising on matters of administrative law
o Reviewing and commenting on the access and privacy implications of proposed legislation, regulations, technologies, programs and services
o Providing advice on Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act
o Providing advice on health-related matters under Ontario's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act or Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
