About the job

As a Senior Engineer, Quality Assurance, you will:
• plan, direct and implement a regional quality assurance program for structural projects
• provide concrete, asphalt, soil and aggregates input to design through contract package review and recommendations
• participate in the consultant acquisition process for construction administration and material testing services
• participate in the evaluation of consultant's proposals
• co-ordinate and supervise activities/duties carried out by technical
• provide recommendations on materials, construction best practices, non-conformance and deviation assessment

What you bring to the team


Mandatory requirements

• You are a Professional Engineer, licensed with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
• The positions require the successful candidates to have a valid class G driver's licence or equivalent. The offer of employment is conditional upon the successful candidates providing proof that they have a valid driver's licence upon being hired.

Technical Knowledge

You have:
• knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices as applicable to highway engineering, structural engineering and material engineering to support of numerous complex transportation infrastructure
• knowledge of concrete and structural products and heavy construction equipment
• knowledge of current changes in highway engineering materials and construction practices in order to evaluate and recommend their specific applications
• knowledge of project and contract management practices, ministry policies, directives and standards to coordinate the regional QA process.

Project Management and Contract Management Skills

You have:
• knowledge of project and contract management practices, ministry policies, directives and standards to coordinate the regional QA process.

Communication Skills

You have:
• oral communication skills to provide advice, explain requirements of policies and procedures, and give presentations/training sessions to staff and service providers
• written communication skills to prepare various documents and reports

Research and Analytical Skills

You have:
• demonstrated research, analytical and problem solving skills to assess and solve complex problems and analyze material results
