The Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal (WSIAT) is a highly specialized adjudicative tribunal that hears appeals of final decisions of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. The WSIAT's Office of the Vice-Chair Registrar is currently seeking 2 Case Record Preparation Clerks to assist with the early processing of appeals by preparing case records electronically using Adobe DC Pro. The salary range for this position is $28.14 - $32.82 per hour.

The Case Record Preparation Clerk
• Reviews decisions that are appealed to identify the claim files to be included in the case record
• Reviews the issues and type of appeal in order to create an appropriate case record
• Sorts electronic documents in chronological order
• Reviews electronic documents to identify privacy breaches
• Identifies deficiencies in file information and requests outstanding information
• Enters data into electronic case tracking systems
• Adds primary bookmarks to case materials in accordance with established guidelines
What you bring to the team
Knowledge and Technical Skills
• Good working knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, 1997, related legislation and policies needed for case record preparation
• Knowledge of legal and medical terminology in order to review specialized claim files and prepare case records using the correct terminology
• Experience working with medical records or other confidential health information is considered an asset
• Knowledge of, or ability to acquire knowledge of, specialized methods and practices necessary to prepare case records
• Knowledge of computerized case tracking systems and the ability to work in a highly computerized environment
• Good keyboarding, typing and word processing skills to handle a high volume of work
• Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 environment
• Proficient using Adobe DC/Acrobat Pro to prepare electronic case records, including the creation of bookmarks
Communication and Organizational Skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills to work in cooperation with other staff to produce case records
• Excellent attention to detail to review decisions and documents for relevant information, identify relevant documents for bookmarking, prepare accurate case records, and enter information into a case tracking system
• Ability to sort electronic documents in chronological order
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills to consistently meet production standards and quotas
• Ability to analyze and determine priorities when performing a variety of different tasks with conflicting deadlines
